Students create and personalize a reusable-item reminder door hanger designed to be displayed on their bedroom door or near the home's main exit.

The door hanger includes a checklist of commonly forgotten reusable items such as a water bottle, shopping bag, snack container, and reusable cup, which students color and decorate before taking home.

The activity is designed to address one of the most common barriers to reusable item adoption: forgetting. Rather than relying on environmental knowledge alone, the intervention uses behavioral science principles to support real-world behavior change.

The door hanger functions as a highly visible cue placed at the point of decision, reminding family members to collect reusable items immediately before leaving the house. By allowing students to personalize and decorate the reminder themselves, the activity increases ownership and emotional attachment, making it more likely to be displayed and noticed.

The inclusion of a simple checklist reduces cognitive load by making desired actions easy to remember, while the social norm message ("Most of your friends remembered theirs") reinforces the perception that bringing reusables is a common and expected behavior.
