Students become food climate detectives, calculating and mapping out the carbon emissions of the daily foods we love.

Print the meal cards and cut them out into separate cards. Let students randomly draw a card. Each meal card shows the grams of ingredients it takes to make the meal. All means are standardised to the same 500 calories so that we are comparing "like against like."

Let each student use the online carbon calculator to work out the carbon emissions of the meal. The cards should have the correct portion sizes.
