Greenzilla is a playful environmental mascot and costume activity that brings energy, imagination, and humor to sustainability events.

Inspired by Godzilla, Greenzilla is a giant plant-loving creature awakened from her long hibernation by rising atmospheric CO₂ levels and a declining biosphere. Instead of destroying cities, Greenzilla transforms them—covering buildings with plants, tearing up asphalt, replacing concrete with gardens, and creating habitats for nature to thrive.

Participants can help decorate the Greenzilla costume with paper leaves, flowers, vines, and colorful dorsal fins before taking turns wearing the costume and becoming the legendary eco-monster.

The activity creates opportunities to discuss biodiversity, urban greening, climate change, and ecological restoration in a fun and memorable way.

The project draws on storytelling, role play, identity formation, and experiential learning to create a positive emotional connection with environmental action.
