In What’s Your Foodprint?, students become food-carbon detectives, investigating the greenhouse gas emissions behind the foods and meals we eat every day.
Using a set of Food Cards and an interactive Emissions Calculator App, students calculate and compare the carbon footprints of different foods, build meals, and rank them from the highest to lowest emissions.
Together, the group investigates the results: Which foods have the biggest footprints? Which have the smallest? What patterns can we spot—and why do the numbers differ so much?
Then comes the design challenge.
Students use what they've discovered to create their own Earth-friendly menu, finding creative ways to build delicious meals with a smaller carbon footprint.
