Grow a Local Pollinator Club

Bring families together to create habitat, support local wildlife, and discover how we can help ecosystems regenerate.

In Earth Doctors Ecosystems Week, students move from learning about nature to actively helping restore it.

Together, students and families create a pollinator garden designed to provide food, shelter and habitat for the insects, birds and other creatures that share our neighborhoods.

Along the way, students learn the principles of ecological regeneration—discovering that environmental action isn't only about reducing harm. We can also actively create the conditions for nature to return and thrive.

Then it's time to get our hands dirty.

Students make seed balls to spread pollinator-friendly plants, create a Caterpillar Café filled with host plants for butterflies, plan a Bat Buffet to support nocturnal pollinators and insect-eaters, and build a native bee house to provide nesting habitat for solitary bees.

Students will:

• Discover the principles of regeneration and ecosystem restoration
• Learn why pollinators are essential to healthy ecosystems
• Explore the different needs of bees, butterflies, caterpillars, bats and other local wildlife
• Design and plant a pollinator-friendly garden
• Make and distribute seed balls
• Create a Caterpillar Café
• Plan a Bat Buffet
• Build a native bee house
• Bring students and families together around a real-world regeneration project

Earth Doctors workshops are designed for teachers, parents and environmental educators looking to bring more hands-on, action-oriented environmental learning into classrooms and communities.
